Chapter 1

9Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.'
10Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, 11Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you are going to cross this Jordan, to go in to take possession of the land which the Lord your God is giving you, to possess it.’?'
12But to the Reubenites, to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joshua said,

Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. 10Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, 11Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God giveth you to possess it.
12And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua, saying,

12Joshua said to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh:

10Joshua then commanded the officers of Israel, 11Go through the camp and tell the people to get their provisions ready. In three days you will cross the Jordan River and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you.'
12Then Joshua called together the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh. He told them,
