Jonah 1:1-5
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 1
1The word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2Arise, go to Nineveh, the great city, and cry out against it, because their wickedness has come up before Me.' 3But Jonah got up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. So he went down to Joppa, found a ship that was going to Tarshish, paid the fare, and boarded it to go with them to Tarshish away from the presence of the Lord.
4However, the Lord hurled a great wind on the sea and there was a great storm on the sea, so that the ship was about to break up.
5Then the sailors became afraid and every man cried out to his god, and they hurled the cargo which was in the ship into the sea to lighten it for them. But Jonah had gone below into the stern of the ship, had lain down, and fallen sound asleep.

But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 1
1The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai: 2"Get up! Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it because their evil has come up before me." 3Jonah got up to flee to Tarshish from the Lord’s presence. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. He paid the fare and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish from the Lord’s presence.
4But the Lord threw a great wind onto the sea, and such a great storm arose on the sea that the ship threatened to break apart.
5The sailors were afraid, and each cried out to his god. They threw the ship’s cargo into the sea to lighten the load. Meanwhile, Jonah had gone down to the lowest part of the vessel and had stretched out and fallen into a deep sleep.
