Chapter 50
31Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord GOD of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee. 32And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.
33Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.
34Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.
35A sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith the LORD, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.

Chapter 50
31Look, I am against you, you arrogant one -- this is the declaration of the Lord God of Armies -- for your day has come, the time when I will punish you. 32The arrogant will stumble and fall with no one to pick him up. I will set fire to his cities, and it will consume everything around him.
33This is what the Lord of Armies says: Israelites and Judeans alike have been oppressed. All their captors hold them fast; they refuse to release them.
34Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of Armies is his name. He will fervently champion their cause so that he might bring rest to the earth but turmoil to those who live in Babylon.
New Living Translation
Chapter 50
31'See, I am your enemy, you arrogant people,' says the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. 'Your day of reckoning has arrived — the day when I will punish you. 32O land of arrogance, you will stumble and fall, and no one will raise you up. For I will light a fire in the cities of Babylon that will burn up everything around them.'
33This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: 'The people of Israel and Judah have been wronged. Their captors hold them and refuse to let them go.
34But the one who redeems them is strong. His name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. He will defend them and give them rest again in Israel. But for the people of Babylon there will be no rest!
