Jeremiah 30:18-23
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 30
18
'This is what the
Lord
says:
‘Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob
And have compassion on his dwellings;
And the city will be rebuilt on its ruins,
And the palace will stand on its rightful place.
19
From them will come a song of thanksgiving
And the voices of those who celebrate;
And I will multiply them and they will not decrease;
I will honor them and they will not be insignificant.
20
Their children also will be as before,
And their congregation will be established before Me;
And I will punish all their oppressors.
21
Their leader shall be one of them,
And their ruler will come out from their midst;
And I will bring him near and he shall approach Me;
For who would dare to risk his life to approach Me?’ declares the
Lord
.
22
‘You shall be My people,
And I will be your God.’?'
23
Behold, the tempest of the
Lord
!
Wrath has gone forth,
A sweeping tempest;
It will whirl upon the head of the wicked.
King James Version
Chapter 30
18
Thus saith the
Lord
; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.
19
And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
20
Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.
21
And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the
Lord
.
22
And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
23
Behold, the whirlwind of the
Lord
goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 30
18
This is what the
Lord
says:
I will certainly restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents
and show compassion on his dwellings.
Every city will be rebuilt on its mound;
every citadel will stand on its proper site.
19
Thanksgiving will come out of them,
a sound of rejoicing.
I will multiply them, and they will not decrease;
I will honor them, and they will not be insignificant.
20
His children will be as in past days;
his congregation will be established in my presence.
I will punish all his oppressors.
21
Jacob’s leader will be one of them;
his ruler will issue from him.
I will invite him to me, and he will approach me,
for who would otherwise risk his life to approach me? This is the
Lord
’s declaration.
22
You will be my people,
and I will be your God.
23
Look, a storm from the
Lord
!
Wrath has gone out,
a churning storm.
It will whirl about the heads of the wicked.
New Living Translation
Chapter 30
18
This is what the
Lord
says:
'When I bring Israel home again from captivity
and restore their fortunes,
Jerusalem will be rebuilt on its ruins,
and the palace reconstructed as before.
19
There will be joy and songs of thanksgiving,
and I will multiply my people, not diminish them;
I will honor them, not despise them.
20
Their children will prosper as they did long ago.
I will establish them as a nation before me,
and I will punish anyone who hurts them.
21
They will have their own ruler again,
and he will come from their own people.
I will invite him to approach me,' says the
Lord
,
'for who would dare to come unless invited?
22
You will be my people,
and I will be your God.'
23
Look! The
Lord
’s anger bursts out like a storm,
a driving wind that swirls down on the heads of the wicked.
English Standard Version
Chapter 30
18
"Thus says the
Lord
:
Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob
and have compassion on his dwellings;
the city shall be rebuilt on its mound,
and the palace shall stand where it used to be.
19
Out of them shall come songs of thanksgiving,
and the voices of those who celebrate.
I will multiply them, and they shall not be few;
I will make them honored, and they shall not be small.
20
Their children shall be as they were of old,
and their congregation shall be established before me,
and I will punish all who oppress them.
21
Their prince shall be one of themselves;
their ruler shall come out from their midst;
I will make him draw near, and he shall approach me,
for who would dare of himself to approach me? declares the
Lord
.
22
And you shall be my people,
and I will be your God."
23
Behold the storm of the
Lord
!
Wrath has gone forth,
a whirling tempest;
it will burst upon the head of the wicked.

" ‘I will restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents
and have compassion on his dwellings;
the city will be rebuilt on her ruins,
and the palace will stand in its proper place.
19
From them will come songs of thanksgiving
and the sound of rejoicing.
I will add to their numbers,
and they will not be decreased;
I will bring them honor,
and they will not be disdained.
20
Their children will be as in days of old,
and their community will be established before me;
I will punish all who oppress them.
21
Their leader will be one of their own;
their ruler will arise from among them.
I will bring him near and he will come close to me—
for who is he who will devote himself
to be close to me?’
declares the
Lord
.
22
" ‘So you will be my people,
and I will be your God.’ "
23
See, the storm of the
Lord
will burst out in wrath,
a driving wind swirling down
on the heads of the wicked.

Goes forth with fury,
