Jeremiah 29:14-16
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 29
14
I will let Myself be found by you,’ declares the
Lord
, ‘and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you,’ declares the
Lord
, ‘and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.’
15
Because you have said, ‘The
Lord
has raised up prophets for us in Babylon’—
16
for this is what the
Lord
says concerning the king who sits on the throne of David, and concerning all the people who live in this city, your brothers who did not go with you into exile—
King James Version
Chapter 29
14
And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
15
Because ye have said, The LORD hath raised us up prophets in Babylon;
16
Know
that thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in this city,
and
of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity;
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 29
14
I will be found by you"--this is the Lord's declaration--"and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and places where I banished you"--this is the Lord's declaration. "I will restore you to the place from which I deported you."
15
You have said, "The Lord has raised up prophets for us in Babylon! "
16
But this is what the Lord says concerning the king sitting on David's throne and concerning all the people living in this city--that is, concerning your brothers who did not go with you into exile.
New Living Translation
Chapter 29
14
I will be found by you,' says the
Lord
. 'I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.'
15
You claim that the
Lord
has raised up prophets for you in Babylon.
16
But this is what the
Lord
says about the king who sits on David’s throne and all those still living here in Jerusalem — your relatives who were not exiled to Babylon.
English Standard Version
Chapter 29
14
I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the LORD, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
15
“Because you have said, ‘The LORD has raised up prophets for us in Babylon,’
16
thus says the LORD concerning the king who sits on the throne of David, and concerning all the people who dwell in this city, your kinsmen who did not go out with you into exile:
New International Version
Chapter 29
14
I will be found by you,' declares the LORD, 'and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,' declares the LORD, 'and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."
15
You may say, 'The LORD has raised up prophets for us in Babylon,'
16
but this is what the LORD says about the king who sits on David's throne and all the people who remain in this city, your fellow citizens who did not go with you into exile--
New King James Version
Chapter 29
14
I will be found by you, says the
Lord
, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the
Lord
, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.
15
Because you have said, “The
Lord
has raised up prophets for us in Babylon”—
16
therefore thus says the
Lord
concerning the king who sits on the throne of David, concerning all the people who dwell in this city, and concerning your brethren who have not gone out with you into captivity—
