New American Standard Bible
Chapter 28
6and Jeremiah the prophet said, 'Amen! May the Lord do so; may the Lord fulfill your words which you have prophesied, to bring back the vessels of the Lord’S house and all the exiles, from Babylon to this place. 7Yet hear now this word which I am going to speak so that you and all the people can hear it! 8The prophets who were before me and before you from ancient times also prophesied against many lands and against great kingdoms regarding war, disaster, and plague. 9As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet comes to pass, then that prophet will be known as one whom the Lord has truly sent.'
10Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke it.
11Hananiah spoke in the sight of all the people, saying, 'This is what the Lord says: ‘Even so within two full years I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all the nations.’?' Then Jeremiah the prophet went his way.

Chapter 28
6Even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen: the LORD do so: the LORD perform thy words which thou hast prophesied, to bring again the vessels of the LORD'S house, and all that is carried away captive, from Babylon into this place. 7Nevertheless hear thou now this word that I speak in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people; 8The prophets that have been before me and before thee of old prophesied both against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence. 9The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him.
10Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from off the prophet Jeremiah's neck, and brake it.
11And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
12Then the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the prophet, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

Chapter 28
6The prophet Jeremiah said, "Amen! May the Lord do that. May the Lord make the words you have prophesied come true and may he restore the articles of the Lord's temple and all the exiles from Babylon to this place! 7Only listen to this message I am speaking in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people. 8The prophets who preceded you and me from ancient times prophesied war, disaster, and plague against many lands and great kingdoms. 9As for the prophet who prophesies peace--only when the word of the prophet comes true will the prophet be recognized as one the Lord has truly sent."
10The prophet Hananiah then took the yoke bar from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and broke it.
11In the presence of all the people Hananiah proclaimed, "This is what the Lord says: 'In this way, within two years I will break the yoke of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon from the neck of all the nations.' " The prophet Jeremiah then went on his way.
New Living Translation
Chapter 28
6He said, 'Amen! May your prophecies come true! I hope the Lord does everything you say. I hope he does bring back from Babylon the treasures of this Temple and all the captives. 7But listen now to the solemn words I speak to you in the presence of all these people. 8The ancient prophets who preceded you and me spoke against many nations, always warning of war, disaster, and disease. 9So a prophet who predicts peace must show he is right. Only when his predictions come true can we know that he is really from the Lord.'
10Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke off Jeremiah’s neck and broke it in pieces.
11And Hananiah said again to the crowd that had gathered, 'This is what the Lord says: ‘Just as this yoke has been broken, within two years I will break the yoke of oppression from all the nations now subject to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon.’' With that, Jeremiah left the Temple area.
