Jeremiah 27:17-18
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 27
17
Do not listen to them; serve the king of Babylon, and live! Why should this city become a place of ruins?
18
But if they are prophets, and if the word of the
Lord
is with them, have them now plead with the
Lord
of armies that the vessels which are left in the house of the
Lord
and the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem do not go to Babylon.
King James Version
Chapter 27
17
Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should this city be laid waste?
18
But if they be prophets, and if the word of the
Lord
be with them, let them now make intercession to the
Lord
of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the
Lord
, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 27
17
Do not listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon and live! Why should this city become a ruin?
18
If they are indeed prophets and if the word of the
Lord
is with them, let them intercede with the
Lord
of Armies not to let the articles that remain in the
Lord
’s temple, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem go to Babylon.’
New Living Translation
Chapter 27
17
Do not listen to them. Surrender to the king of Babylon, and you will live. Why should this whole city be destroyed?
18
If they really are prophets and speak the
Lord
’s messages, let them pray to the
Lord
of Heaven’s Armies. Let them pray that the articles remaining in the
Lord
’s Temple and in the king’s palace and in the palaces of Jerusalem will not be carried away to Babylon!’
English Standard Version
Chapter 27
17
Do not listen to them; serve the king of Babylon and live. Why should this city become a desolation?
18
If they are prophets, and if the word of the
Lord
is with them, then let them intercede with the
Lord
of hosts, that the vessels that are left in the house of the
Lord
, in the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem may not go to Babylon.
New International Version
Chapter 27
17
Do not listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon, and you will live. Why should this city become a ruin?
18
If they are prophets and have the word of the
Lord
, let them plead with the
Lord
Almighty that the articles remaining in the house of the
Lord
and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem not be taken to Babylon.
New King James Version
Chapter 27
17
Do not listen to them; serve the king of Babylon, and live! Why should this city be laid waste?
18
But if they
are
prophets, and if the word of the
Lord
is with them, let them now make intercession to the
Lord
of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the
Lord
,
in
the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, do not go to Babylon.’
