The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly. 21I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. 22But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. 23Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 23
The Lord's anger will not turn away until he has completely fulfilled the purposes of his heart. In time to come you will understand it clearly. 21I did not send out these prophets, yet they ran. I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied. 22If they had really stood in my council, they would have enabled my people to hear my words and would have turned them from their evil ways and their evil deeds.New Living Translation
'I have not sent these prophets, yet they run around claiming to speak for me. I have given them no message, yet they go on prophesying.
If they had stood before me and listened to me, they would have spoken my words, and they would have turned my people from their evil ways and deeds.
Am I a God who is only close at hand?' says the Lord. 'No, I am far away at the same time.
