New American Standard Bible
Chapter 1
9Now the brother or sister of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position; 10but the rich person is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away. 11For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so also the rich person, in the midst of his pursuits, will die out.King James Version
Chapter 1
9Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: 10But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. 11For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. 12Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.Christian Standard Bible

In the same way, the rich person will wither away while pursuing his activities.New Living Translation

In the same way, the rich will fade away with all of their achievements.English Standard Version

9Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. 10But the rich should take pride in their humiliation--since they will pass away like a wild flower. 11For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.New King James Version
