Chapter 5

7 For the vineyard of the LORD of armies is the house of Israel, And the people of Judah are His delightful plant. So He waited for justice, but behold, there was bloodshed; For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help. 8 Woe to those who attach house to house and join field to field, Until there is no more room, And you alone are a landowner in the midst of the land! 9 In my ears the LORD of armies has sworn, 'Many houses shall certainly become desolate, Even great and fine ones, without occupants.

8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth! 9 In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.

9 I heard the Lord of Armies say: Indeed, many houses will become desolate, grand and lovely ones without inhabitants.

8 What sorrow for you who buy up house after house and field after field, until everyone is evicted and you live alone in the land. 9 But I have heard the LORD of Heaven's Armies swear a solemn oath: 'Many houses will stand deserted; even beautiful mansions will be empty.
