Exodus 7:8-11
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 7
8
Now the
Lord
spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,
9
When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, ‘ Work a miracle,’ then you shall say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw
it
down before Pharaoh,
so that
it may turn into a serpent.’?'
10
So Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and so they did, just as the
Lord
had commanded; and Aaron threw his staff down before Pharaoh and his servants, and it turned into a serpent.
11
Then Pharaoh also called for
the
wise men and
the
sorcerers, and they too,
the
soothsayer priests of Egypt, did the same with their secret arts.
King James Version
Chapter 7
8
And the
Lord
spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
9
When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.
10
And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the
Lord
had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.
11
Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 7
8
The
Lord
said to Moses and Aaron,
9
"When Pharaoh tells you, ‘Perform a miracle,’ tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh. It will become a serpent.’"
10
So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and did just as the
Lord
had commanded. Aaron threw down his staff before Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a serpent.
11
But then Pharaoh called the wise men and sorcerers—the magicians of Egypt, and they also did the same thing by their occult practices.
New Living Translation
Chapter 7
8
Then the
Lord
said to Moses and Aaron,
9
Pharaoh will demand, ‘Show me a miracle.’ When he does this, say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down in front of Pharaoh, and it will become a serpent. ’'
10
So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did what the
Lord
had commanded them. Aaron threw down his staff before Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a serpent!
11
Then Pharaoh called in his own wise men and sorcerers, and these Egyptian magicians did the same thing with their magic.
English Standard Version
