Exodus 7:21-25
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 7
21
Then the fish that
were
in the Nile died, and the Nile stank, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile. And the blood was through all the land of Egypt.
22
But the soothsayer priests of Egypt did the same with their secret arts; and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, just as the
Lord
had said.
23
Then Pharaoh turned and went into his house with no concern even for this.
24
So all the Egyptians dug around the Nile for water to drink, because they could not drink from the water of the Nile.
25
Seven days passed after the
Lord
had struck the Nile.
King James Version
Chapter 7
21
And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.
22
And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the
Lord
had said.
23
And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also.
24
And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.
25
And seven days were fulfilled, after that the
Lord
had smitten the river.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 7
21
The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad the Egyptians could not drink water from it. There was blood throughout the land of Egypt.
22
But the magicians of Egypt did the same thing by their occult practices. So Pharaoh’s heart was hard, and he would not listen to them, as the
Lord
had said.
23
Pharaoh turned around, went into his palace, and didn’t take even this to heart.
24
All the Egyptians dug around the Nile for water to drink because they could not drink the water from the river.
25
Seven days passed after the
Lord
struck the Nile.
New Living Translation
Chapter 7
21
The fish in the river died, and the water became so foul that the Egyptians couldn’t drink it. There was blood everywhere throughout the land of Egypt.
22
But again the magicians of Egypt used their magic, and they, too, turned water into blood. So Pharaoh’s heart remained hard. He refused to listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the
Lord
had predicted.
23
Pharaoh returned to his palace and put the whole thing out of his mind.
24
Then all the Egyptians dug along the riverbank to find drinking water, for they couldn’t drink the water from the Nile.
25
Seven days passed from the time the
Lord
struck the Nile.
