Exodus 40:32-38
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 40
32When they entered the tent of meeting, and when they approached the altar, they washed, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 33And he erected the courtyard all around the tabernacle and the altar, and hung up the curtain for the gate of the courtyard. So Moses finished the work.
34Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
35And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
36Throughout their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the sons of Israel would set out;
37but if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out until the day when it was taken up.
38For throughout their journeys, the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel.
King James Version
Chapter 40
32When they went into the tent of the congregation, and when they came near unto the altar, they washed; as the LORD commanded Moses. 33And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.
34Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
35And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
36And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:
37But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.
38For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
Christian Standard Bible
34The cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
35Moses was unable to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud rested on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
36The Israelites set out whenever the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle throughout all the stages of their journey.
37If the cloud was not taken up, they did not set out until the day it was taken up.
38For the cloud of the Lord was over the tabernacle by day, and there was a fire inside the cloud by night, visible to the entire house of Israel throughout all the stages of their journey.
New Living Translation
34Then the cloud covered the Tabernacle, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.
35Moses could no longer enter the Tabernacle because the cloud had settled down over it, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.
36Now whenever the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out on their journey, following it.
37But if the cloud did not rise, they remained where they were until it lifted.
38The cloud of the Lord hovered over the Tabernacle during the day, and at night fire glowed inside the cloud so the whole family of Israel could see it. This continued throughout all their journeys.
English Standard Version
Chapter 40
32When they went into the tent of meeting, and when they approached the altar, they washed, as the LORD commanded Moses. 33And he erected the court around the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moses finished the work.
34Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
35And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
36Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out.
37But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up.
38For the cloud of the LORD was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys.
New International Version
34Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
35Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
36In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out;
37but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out--until the day it lifted.
38So the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels.
New King James Version
