Exodus 14:11-14
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 14
11
Then they said to Moses, 'Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt with us in this way, bringing us out of Egypt?
12
Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘ Leave us alone so that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness!'
13
But Moses said to the people, 'Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the
Lord
, which He will perform for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again, ever.
14
The
Lord
will fight for you, while you keep silent.'
King James Version
Chapter 14
11
And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
12
Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
13
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the
Lord
, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
14
The
Lord
shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 14
11
They said to Moses: "Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?
12
Isn’t this what we told you in Egypt: Leave us alone so that we may serve the Egyptians? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness."
13
But Moses said to the people, "Don’t be afraid. Stand firm and see the
Lord
’s salvation that he will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians you see today, you will never see again.
14
The
Lord
will fight for you, and you must be quiet."
New Living Translation
Chapter 14
11
and they said to Moses, 'Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt?
12
Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, ‘Leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!’'
13
But Moses told the people, 'Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the
Lord
rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again.
14
The
Lord
himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.'
English Standard Version
Chapter 14
11
They said to Moses, "Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt?
12
Is not this what we said to you in Egypt: ‘Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness."
13
And Moses said to the people, "Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the
Lord
, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.
14
The
Lord
will fight for you, and you have only to be silent."
New International Version
Chapter 14
11
They said to Moses, "Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?
12
Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!"
13
Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the
Lord
will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.
14
The
Lord
will fight for you; you need only to be still."
New King James Version
Chapter 14
11
Then they said to Moses, “Because
there were
no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt?
12
Is
this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For
it would have been
better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”
13
And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the
Lord
, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.
14
The
Lord
will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
