Chapter 7

5Then King Ahasuerus asked Queen Esther, 'Who is he, and where is he, who would presume to do such a thing?' 6And Esther said, 'A foe and an enemy is this wicked Haman!' Then Haman became terrified before the king and queen.
7The king then got up in his anger from drinking wine and went into the palace garden; but Haman stayed to beg for his life from Queen Esther, for he saw that harm had been determined against him by the king.

5Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?
6And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen. 7And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.

5King Ahasuerus spoke up and asked Queen Esther, "Who is this, and where is the one who would devise such a scheme?"
6Esther answered, "The adversary and enemy is this evil Haman." Haman stood terrified before the king and queen. 7The king arose in anger and went from where they were drinking wine to the palace garden. Haman remained to beg Queen Esther for his life because he realized the king was planning something terrible for him.

5Who would do such a thing?' King Xerxes demanded. 'Who would be so presumptuous as to touch you?'
6Esther replied, 'This wicked Haman is our adversary and our enemy.' Haman grew pale with fright before the king and queen.
7Then the king jumped to his feet in a rage and went out into the palace garden. Haman, however, stayed behind to plead for his life with Queen Esther, for he knew that the king intended to kill him.
