Chapter 5

2and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.
3But sexual immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper among saints; 4and there must be no filthiness or foolish talk, or vulgar joking, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.

2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. 3But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

3Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. 4Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes — these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.
