Ecclesiastes 11:4-5
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 11
4
One who watches the wind will not sow and one who looks at the clouds will not harvest.
5
Just as you do not know the path of the wind, and how bones
are formed
in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes everything.
King James Version
Chapter 11
4
He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.
5
As thou knowest not what
is
the way of the spirit,
nor
how the bones
do grow
in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 11
4
One who watches the wind will not sow, and the one who looks at the clouds will not reap.
5
Just as you don't know the path of the wind, or how bones develop in the womb of a pregnant woman, so also you don't know the work of God who makes everything.
New Living Translation
Chapter 11
4
Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant.
If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.
5
Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.
English Standard Version
Chapter 11
4
He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.
5
As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
New International Version
Chapter 11
4
Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.
5
As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.
