Deuteronomy 33:1-13

Chapter 33

1Now this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death.
2He said, 'The Lord came from Sinai, And dawned on them from Seir; He shone from Mount Paran, And He came from the midst of myriads of holy ones; At His right hand there was flashing lightning for them. 3Indeed, He loves the people; All Your holy ones are in Your hand, And they followed in Your steps; Everyone takes of Your words. 4Moses issued to us the Law, A possession for the assembly of Jacob. 5And He was king in Jeshurun, When the heads of the people gathered, The tribes of Israel together. 6'May Reuben live and not die, Nor may his people be few.'
7And this was regarding Judah; so he said: 'Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, And bring him to his people. With his hands he contended for them, And may You be a help against his adversaries.'
8Of Levi he said, ' Let Your Thummim and Your Urim belong to Your godly man, Whom You tested at Massah, With whom You contended at the waters of Meribah;
9Who said of his father and his mother, ‘I did not consider them’; And he did not acknowledge his brothers, Nor did he regard his own sons, For they kept Your word, And complied with Your covenant. 10They will teach Your ordinances to Jacob, And Your Law to Israel. They shall put incense before You, And whole burnt offerings on Your altar.
11Lord, bless his strength, And accept the work of his hands; Smash the hips of those who rise up against him, And those who hate him, so that they do not rise again.'
12Of Benjamin he said, 'May the beloved of the Lord live in security beside Him Who shields him all the day long, And he lives between His shoulders.'
13Of Joseph he said, 'Blessed of the Lord be his land, With the choice things of heaven, with the dew, And from the deep waters lying beneath,

Chapter 33

1And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death. 2And he said, The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.
3Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.
4Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.
5And he was king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel were gathered together. 6Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few. 7And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him unto his people: let his hands be sufficient for him; and be thou an help to him from his enemies. 8And of Levi he said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah, and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;
9Who said unto his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew his own children: for they have observed thy word, and kept thy covenant.
10They shall teach Jacob thy judgments, and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine altar.
11Bless, Lord, his substance, and accept the work of his hands: smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again. 12And of Benjamin he said, The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders. 13And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the Lord be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,

Chapter 33

1This is the blessing that Moses, the man of God, gave the Israelites before his death.
2He said: The Lord came from Sinai and appeared to them from Seir; he shone on them from Mount Paran and came with ten thousand holy ones, with lightning from his right hand for them. 3Indeed he loves the people. All your holy ones are in your hand, and they assemble at your feet. Each receives your words. 4Moses gave us instruction, a possession for the assembly of Jacob.
5So he became King in Jeshurun when the leaders of the people gathered with the tribes of Israel. 6Let Reuben live and not die though his people become few.
7He said this about Judah: Lord, hear Judah’s cry and bring him to his people. He fights for his cause with his own hands, but may you be a help against his foes.
8He said about Levi: Your Thummim and Urim belong to your faithful one; you tested him at Massah and contended with him at the Waters of Meribah. 9He said about his father and mother, "I do not regard them." He disregarded his brothers and didn’t acknowledge his sons, for they kept your word and maintained your covenant. 10They will teach your ordinances to Jacob and your instruction to Israel; they will set incense before you and whole burnt offerings on your altar. 11 Lord, bless his possessions, and accept the work of his hands. Break the back of his adversaries and enemies, so that they cannot rise again.
12He said about Benjamin: The Lord’s beloved rests securely on him. He shields him all day long, and he rests on his shoulders.
13He said about Joseph: May his land be blessed by the Lord with the dew of heaven’s bounty and the watery depths that lie beneath;

Chapter 33

1This is the blessing that Moses, the man of God, gave to the people of Israel before his death:
2'The Lord came from Mount Sinai and dawned upon us from Mount Seir; he shone forth from Mount Paran and came from Meribah-kadesh with flaming fire at his right hand. 3Indeed, he loves his people; all his holy ones are in his hands. They follow in his steps and accept his teaching. 4Moses gave us the Lord’s instruction, the special possession of the people of Israel. 5The Lord became king in Israel — when the leaders of the people assembled, when the tribes of Israel gathered as one.'
6Moses said this about the tribe of Reuben: 'Let the tribe of Reuben live and not die out, though they are few in number.'
7Moses said this about the tribe of Judah: 'O Lord, hear the cry of Judah and bring them together as a people. Give them strength to defend their cause; help them against their enemies!'
8Moses said this about the tribe of Levi: 'O Lord, you have given your Thummim and Urim — the sacred lots — to your faithful servants the Levites. You put them to the test at Massah and struggled with them at the waters of Meribah. 9The Levites obeyed your word and guarded your covenant. They were more loyal to you than to their own parents. They ignored their relatives and did not acknowledge their own children. 10They teach your regulations to Jacob; they give your instructions to Israel. They present incense before you and offer whole burnt offerings on the altar. 11Bless the ministry of the Levites, O Lord, and accept all the work of their hands. Hit their enemies where it hurts the most; strike down their foes so they never rise again.'
12Moses said this about the tribe of Benjamin: 'The people of Benjamin are loved by the Lord and live in safety beside him. He surrounds them continuously and preserves them from every harm.'
13Moses said this about the tribes of Joseph: 'May their land be blessed by the Lord with the precious gift of dew from the heavens and water from beneath the earth;

1This is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the people of Israel before his death. 2He said, "The Lord came from Sinai and dawned from Seir upon us; he shone forth from Mount Paran; he came from the ten thousands of holy ones, with flaming fire at his right hand.
3Yes, he loved his people, all his holy ones were in his hand; so they followed in your steps, receiving direction from you, 4when Moses commanded us a law, as a possession for the assembly of Jacob. 5Thus the Lord became king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people were gathered, all the tribes of Israel together. 6 "Let Reuben live, and not die, but let his men be few." 7And this he said of Judah: "Hear, O Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him in to his people. With your hands contend for him, and be a help against his adversaries."
8And of Levi he said, "Give to Levi your Thummim, and your Urim to your godly one, whom you tested at Massah, with whom you quarreled at the waters of Meribah;
9who said of his father and mother, ‘I regard them not’; he disowned his brothers and ignored his children. For they observed your word and kept your covenant. 10 They shall teach Jacob your rules and Israel your law; they shall put incense before you and whole burnt offerings on your altar. 11Bless, O Lord, his substance, and accept the work of his hands; crush the loins of his adversaries, of those who hate him, that they rise not again." 12Of Benjamin he said, "The beloved of the Lord dwells in safety. The High God surrounds him all day long, and dwells between his shoulders."
13And of Joseph he said, "Blessed by the Lord be his land, with the choicest gifts of heaven above, and of the deep that crouches beneath,

Chapter 33

1This is the blessing that Moses the man of God pronounced on the Israelites before his death.
2He said: "The Lord came from Sinai and dawned over them from Seir; he shone forth from Mount Paran. He came with myriads of holy ones from the south, from his mountain slopes. 3Surely it is you who love the people; all the holy ones are in your hand. At your feet they all bow down, and from you receive instruction, 4the law that Moses gave us, the possession of the assembly of Jacob.
5He was king over Jeshurun when the leaders of the people assembled, along with the tribes of Israel. 6"Let Reuben live and not die, nor his people be few."
7And this he said about Judah: "Hear, Lord, the cry of Judah; bring him to his people. With his own hands he defends his cause. Oh, be his help against his foes!"
8About Levi he said: "Your Thummim and Urim belong to your faithful servant. You tested him at Massah; you contended with him at the waters of Meribah. 9He said of his father and mother, ‘I have no regard for them.’ He did not recognize his brothers or acknowledge his own children, but he watched over your word and guarded your covenant. 10He teaches your precepts to Jacob and your law to Israel. He offers incense before you and whole burnt offerings on your altar. 11Bless all his skills, Lord, and be pleased with the work of his hands. Strike down those who rise against him, his foes till they rise no more."
12About Benjamin he said: "Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders."
13About Joseph he said: "May the Lord bless his land with the precious dew from heaven above and with the deep waters that lie below;
