New American Standard Bible
Chapter 1
32Yet in spite of all this, you did not trust the LORD your God, 33who goes before you on your way, to seek out a place for you to make camp, in the fire by night to show you the way by which you should go, and in the cloud by day.
34'Then the LORD heard the sound of your words, and He was angry and swore an oath, saying,
35‘Not one of these men, this evil generation, shall see the good land which I swore to give your fathers,
36except Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him I will give the land on which he has set foot, and to his sons, because he has followed the LORD fully.’
37The LORD was angry with me also on your account, saying, ‘Not even you shall enter there.

Chapter 1
32Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your God, 33Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day. 34And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying, 35Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers, 36Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the LORD. 37Also the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt not go in thither.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 1
32But in spite of this you did not trust the Lord your God, 33who went before you on the journey to seek out a place for you to camp. He went in the fire by night and in the cloud by day to guide you on the road you were to travel.
34"When the Lord heard your words, he grew angry and swore an oath:
35None of these men in this evil generation will see the good land I swore to give your ancestors,
36except Caleb the son of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land on which he has set foot, because he remained loyal to the Lord.'
New Living Translation
Chapter 1
32'But even after all he did, you refused to trust the LORD your God, 33who goes before you looking for the best places to camp, guiding you with a pillar of fire by night and a pillar of cloud by day.
34'When the LORD heard your complaining, he became very angry. So he solemnly swore,
35'Not one of you from this wicked generation will live to see the good land I swore to give your ancestors,
36except Caleb son of Jephunneh. He will see this land because he has followed the LORD completely. I will give to him and his descendants some of the very land he explored during his scouting mission.'
