Deuteronomy 18:1-9
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 18
1The Levitical priests, the whole tribe of Levi, shall not have a portion or inheritance with Israel; they shall eat the Lord’S offerings by fire and His property. 2They shall not have an inheritance among their countrymen; the Lord is their inheritance, as He promised them.
3Now this shall be the priests’ portion from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, either an ox or a sheep: they shall give the priest the shoulder, the two cheeks, and the stomach.
4You shall give him the first fruits of your grain, your new wine, and your oil, and the first fleece of your sheep.
5For the Lord your God has chosen him and his sons from all your tribes, to stand to serve in the name of the Lord always.
6Now if a Levite comes from any of your towns throughout Israel where he resides, and he comes whenever he desires to the place which the Lord chooses,
7then he shall serve in the name of the Lord his God, like all his fellow Levites who stand there before the Lord.
8They shall eat equal portions, except for what they receive from the sale of their fathers’ estates.
King James Version
Chapter 18
1The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and his inheritance. 2Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the Lord is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them. 3And this shall be the priest's due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep; and they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw. 4The firstfruit also of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him. 5For the Lord thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the Lord, him and his sons for ever. 6And if a Levite come from any of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourned, and come with all the desire of his mind unto the place which the Lord shall choose; 7Then he shall minister in the name of the Lord his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, which stand there before the Lord. 8They shall have like portions to eat, beside that which cometh of the sale of his patrimony. 9When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 18
1"The Levitical priests, the whole tribe of Levi, will have no portion or inheritance with Israel. They will eat the Lord’s fire offerings; that is their inheritance. 2Although Levi has no inheritance among his brothers, the Lord is his inheritance, as he promised him. 3This is the priests’ share from the people who offer a sacrifice, whether it is an ox, a sheep, or a goat; the priests are to be given the shoulder, jaws, and stomach. 4You are to give him the firstfruits of your grain, new wine, and fresh oil, and the first sheared wool of your flock. 5For the Lord your God has chosen him and his sons from all your tribes to stand and minister in his name from now on. 6When a Levite leaves one of your towns in Israel where he was staying and wants to go to the place the Lord chooses, 7he may serve in the name of the Lord his God like all his fellow Levites who minister there in the presence of the Lord. 8They will eat equal portions besides what he has received from the sale of the family estate.New Living Translation
Chapter 18
1Remember that the Levitical priests — that is, the whole of the tribe of Levi — will receive no allotment of land among the other tribes in Israel. Instead, the priests and Levites will eat from the special gifts given to the Lord, for that is their share. 2They will have no land of their own among the Israelites. The Lord himself is their special possession, just as he promised them.
3These are the parts the priests may claim as their share from the cattle, sheep, and goats that the people bring as offerings: the shoulder, the cheeks, and the stomach.
4You must also give to the priests the first share of the grain, the new wine, the olive oil, and the wool at shearing time.
5For the Lord your God chose the tribe of Levi out of all your tribes to minister in the Lord’s name forever.
6Suppose a Levite chooses to move from his town in Israel, wherever he is living, to the place the Lord chooses for worship.
7He may minister there in the name of the Lord his God, just like all his fellow Levites who are serving the Lord there.
8He may eat his share of the sacrifices and offerings, even if he also receives support from his family.

8then he may have equal portions to eat, besides what he receives from the sale of his patrimony.

Chapter 18
1The Levitical priests—indeed, the whole tribe of Levi—are to have no allotment or inheritance with Israel. They shall live on the food offerings presented to the Lord, for that is their inheritance. 2They shall have no inheritance among their fellow Israelites; the Lord is their inheritance, as he promised them.
3This is the share due the priests from the people who sacrifice a bull or a sheep: the shoulder, the internal organs and the meat from the head.
4You are to give them the firstfruits of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the first wool from the shearing of your sheep,
5for the Lord your God has chosen them and their descendants out of all your tribes to stand and minister in the Lord’s name always.
6If a Levite moves from one of your towns anywhere in Israel where he is living, and comes in all earnestness to the place the Lord will choose,
7he may minister in the name of the Lord his God like all his fellow Levites who serve there in the presence of the Lord.
8He is to share equally in their benefits, even though he has received money from the sale of family possessions.

1“The priests, the Levites—all the tribe of Levi—shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel; they shall eat the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and His portion. 2Therefore they shall have no inheritance among their brethren; the Lord is their inheritance, as He said to them.
3“And this shall be the priest’s due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it is bull or sheep: they shall give to the priest the shoulder, the cheeks, and the stomach.

5For the Lord your God has chosen him out of all your tribes to stand to minister in the name of the Lord, him and his sons forever.
6“So if a Levite comes from any of your gates, from where he dwells among all Israel, and comes with all the desire of his mind to the place which the Lord chooses,
7then he may serve in the name of the Lord his God as all his brethren the Levites do, who stand there before the Lord.
8They shall have equal portions to eat, besides what comes from the sale of his inheritance.
