Daniel 11:4-5
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 11
4
But as soon as he has arisen, his kingdom will be broken up and parceled out toward the four points of the compass, though not to his
own
descendants, nor according to his authority which he wielded, because his sovereignty will be removed and
given
to others besides them.
5
Then the king of the South will grow strong, along with
one
of his princes who will gain ascendancy over him and rule; his domain
will be
a great realm
indeed.
King James Version
Chapter 11
4
And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.
5
And the king of the south shall be strong, and
one
of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion
shall be
a great dominion.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 11
4
But as soon as he is established, his kingdom will be broken up and divided to the four winds of heaven, but not to his descendants; it will not be the same kingdom that he ruled, because his kingdom will be uprooted and will go to others besides them.
5
"The king of the South will grow powerful, but one of his commanders will grow more powerful and will rule a kingdom greater than his.
New Living Translation
Chapter 11
4
But at the height of his power, his kingdom will be broken apart and divided into four parts. It will not be ruled by the king’s descendants, nor will the kingdom hold the authority it once had. For his empire will be uprooted and given to others.
5
The king of the south will increase in power, but one of his own officials will become more powerful than he and will rule his kingdom with great strength.
English Standard Version
