Amos 6:12-13
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 6
12
Do horses run on rocks?
Or does one plow
them
with oxen?
Yet you have turned justice into poison,
And the fruit of righteousness into wormwood,
13
You who rejoice in Lodebar,
And say, 'Have we not by our
own
strength taken Karnaim for ourselves?'
King James Version
Chapter 6
12
Shall horses run upon the rock? will
one
plow
there
with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:
13
Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 6
12
Do horses gallop on the cliffs? Does anyone plow there with oxen? Yet you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood --
13
you who rejoice over Lo-debar and say, "Didn't we capture Karnaim for ourselves by our own strength? "
New Living Translation
Chapter 6
12
Can horses gallop over boulders?
Can oxen be used to plow them?
But that’s how foolish you are when you turn justice into poison
and the sweet fruit of righteousness into bitterness.
13
And you brag about your conquest of Lo-debar.
You boast, 'Didn’t we take Karnaim by our own strength?'
English Standard Version
Chapter 6
12
Do horses run on rocks? Does one plow there with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood—
13
you who rejoice in Lo-debar, who say, “Have we not by our own strength captured Karnaim for ourselves?”
New International Version
Chapter 6
12
Do horses run on the rocky crags? Does one plow the sea with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into bitterness--
13
you who rejoice in the conquest of Lo Debar and say, 'Did we not take Karnaim by our own strength?'
