Amos 3:1-4

New American Standard Bible

Chapter 3

1 Hear this word which the LORD has spoken against you, sons of Israel, against the entire family which He brought up from the land of Egypt:
2 'You only have I known among all the families of the earth; Therefore I will punish you for all your wrongdoing.' 3 Do two people walk together unless they have agreed to meet? 4 Does a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Does a young lion growl from his den unless he has captured something?
King James Version

Chapter 3

1 Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying, 2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities. 3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? 4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?

2 I have known only you out of all the clans of the earth; therefore, I will punish you for all your iniquities. 3 Can two walk together without agreeing to meet? 4 Does a lion roar in the forest when it has no prey? Does a young lion growl from its lair unless it has captured something?

Chapter 3

1 Listen to this message that the LORD has spoken against you, O people of Israel and Judah--against the entire family I rescued from Egypt:
2 'From among all the families on the earth, I have been intimate with you alone. That is why I must punish you for all your sins.'
3 Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction? 4 Does a lion ever roar in a thicket without first finding a victim? Does a young lion growl in its den without first catching its prey?
English Standard Version
