5 So I will send fire upon Judah, And it will consume the citadels of Jerusalem.' 6 This is what the LORD says: 'For three offenses of Israel, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, Because they sell the righteous for money, And the needy for a pair of sandals. 7 These who trample the head of the helpless to the dust of the earth Also divert the way of the humble; And a man and his father resort to the same girl So as to profane My holy name. 8 And on garments seized as pledges they stretch out beside every altar, And in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined.

Chapter 2

5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem. 6 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes; 7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid, to profane my holy name: 8 And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.

Chapter 2

5 Therefore, I will send fire against Judah, and it will consume the citadels of Jerusalem.
6 The Lord says: I will not relent from punishing Israel for three crimes, even four, because they sell a righteous person for silver and a needy person for a pair of sandals. 7 They trample the heads of the poor on the dust of the ground and obstruct the path of the needy. A man and his father have sexual relations with the same girl, profaning my holy name.
8 They stretch out beside every altar on garments taken as collateral, and in the house of their God they drink wine obtained through fines.
New Living Translation

Chapter 2

5 So I will send down fire on Judah, and all the fortresses of Jerusalem will be destroyed.'
6 This is what the LORD says: 'The people of Israel have sinned again and again, and I will not let them go unpunished! They sell honorable people for silver and poor people for a pair of sandals. 7 They trample helpless people in the dust and shove the oppressed out of the way. Both father and son sleep with the same woman, corrupting my holy name. 8 At their religious festivals, they lounge in clothing their debtors put up as security. In the house of their gods, they drink wine bought with unjust fines.
