Amos 1:10-12
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 1
10
So I will send fire on the wall of Tyre,
And it will consume her citadels.'
11
This is what the
Lord
says:
'For three offenses of Edom, and for four,
I will not revoke its
punishment,
Because he pursued his brother with the sword
And stifled his compassion;
His anger also tore continually,
And he maintained his fury forever.
12
So I will send fire upon Teman
And it will consume the citadels of Bozrah.'
King James Version
Chapter 1
10
But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.
11
Thus saith the
Lord
; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
12
But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 1
10
Therefore, I will send fire against the walls of Tyre,
and it will consume its citadels.
11
The
Lord
says:
I will not relent from punishing Edom
for three crimes, even four,
because he pursued his brother with the sword.
He stifled his compassion,
his anger tore at him continually,
and he harbored his rage incessantly.
12
Therefore, I will send fire against Teman,
and it will consume the citadels of Bozrah.
New Living Translation
Chapter 1
10
So I will send down fire on the walls of Tyre,
and all its fortresses will be destroyed.'
11
This is what the
Lord
says:
'The people of Edom have sinned again and again,
and I will not let them go unpunished!
They chased down their relatives, the Israelites, with swords,
showing them no mercy.
In their rage, they slashed them continually
and were unrelenting in their anger.
12
So I will send down fire on Teman,
and the fortresses of Bozrah will be destroyed.'
English Standard Version

So I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre,
and it shall devour her strongholds."
11
Thus says the
Lord
:
"For three transgressions of Edom,
and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because he pursued his brother with the sword

and he kept his wrath forever.
12
So I will send a fire upon Teman,
and it shall devour the strongholds of Bozrah."

I will send fire on the walls of Tyre
that will consume her fortresses."
11
This is what the
Lord
says:
"For three sins of Edom,
even for four, I will not relent.

because his anger raged continually
and his fury flamed unchecked,
12
I will send fire on Teman
that will consume the fortresses of Bozrah."
New King James Version
