Acts 15:27-39
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 15
27Therefore, we have sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will also report the same things by word of mouth. 28For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: 29that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from acts of sexual immorality; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell.'
30So when they were sent away, they went down to Antioch; and after gathering the congregation together, they delivered the letter.
31When they had read it, they rejoiced because of its encouragement.
32Judas and Silas, also being prophets themselves, encouraged and strengthened the brothers and sisters with a lengthy message.
33After they had spent time there, they were sent away from the brothers and sisters in peace to those who had sent them out.
34
35But Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
36After some days Paul said to Barnabas, 'Let’s return and visit the brothers and sisters in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see how they are.'
37Barnabas wanted to take John, called Mark, along with them also.
38But Paul was of the opinion that they should not take along with them this man who had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not gone with them to the work.
39Now it turned into such a sharp disagreement that they separated from one another, and Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus.

Chapter 15
27We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.
28For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
29That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well, Fare ye well.
30So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
31Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
32And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.
33And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.
34Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.
35Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
36And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.
37And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.
38But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.
39And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

Chapter 15
27Therefore we have sent Judas and Silas, who will personally report the same things by word of mouth. 28For it was the Holy Spirit’s decision—and ours—not to place further burdens on you beyond these requirements:
30So they were sent off and went down to Antioch, and after gathering the assembly, they delivered the letter.
31When they read it, they rejoiced because of its encouragement.
32Both Judas and Silas, who were also prophets themselves, encouraged the brothers and sisters and strengthened them with a long message.
33After spending some time there, they were sent back in peace by the brothers and sisters to those who had sent them.
34
35But Paul and Barnabas, along with many others, remained in Antioch, teaching and proclaiming the word of the Lord.
36After some time had passed, Paul said to Barnabas, "Let’s go back and visit the brothers and sisters in every town where we have preached the word of the Lord and see how they’re doing."
37Barnabas wanted to take along John Mark.
38But Paul insisted that they should not take along this man who had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not gone on with them to the work.
39They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company, and Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed off to Cyprus.

Chapter 15
27We are sending Judas and Silas to confirm what we have decided concerning your question.
28'For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay no greater burden on you than these few requirements:
29You must abstain from eating food offered to idols, from consuming blood or the meat of strangled animals, and from sexual immorality. If you do this, you will do well. Farewell.'
30The messengers went at once to Antioch, where they called a general meeting of the believers and delivered the letter.
31And there was great joy throughout the church that day as they read this encouraging message.
32Then Judas and Silas, both being prophets, spoke at length to the believers, encouraging and strengthening their faith.
33They stayed for a while, and then the believers sent them back to the church in Jerusalem with a blessing of peace.
34
35Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch. They and many others taught and preached the word of the Lord there.
36After some time Paul said to Barnabas, 'Let’s go back and visit each city where we previously preached the word of the Lord, to see how the new believers are doing.'
37Barnabas agreed and wanted to take along John Mark.
38But Paul disagreed strongly, since John Mark had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in their work.
39Their disagreement was so sharp that they separated. Barnabas took John Mark with him and sailed for Cyprus.

Chapter 15
27Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word of mouth what we are writing. 28It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements:
30So the men were sent off and went down to Antioch, where they gathered the church together and delivered the letter.
31The people read it and were glad for its encouraging message.
32Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the believers.
33After spending some time there, they were sent off by the believers with the blessing of peace to return to those who had sent them.

35But Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, where they and many others taught and preached the word of the Lord.
36Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, "Let us go back and visit the believers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing."
37Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them,
38but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work.
