Acts 1:16-19
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 1
16
Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
17
For he was counted among us and received his share in this ministry.'
18
(Now this man acquired a field with the price of his wickedness, and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.
19
And it became known to all the residents of Jerusalem; as a result that field was called Hakeldama in their own language, that is, Field of Blood.)
King James Version
Chapter 1
16
Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
17
For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
18
Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
19
And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 1
16
"Brothers and sisters, it was necessary that the Scripture be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit through the mouth of David foretold about Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
17
For he was one of our number and shared in this ministry."
18
Now this man acquired a field with his unrighteous wages. He fell headfirst, his body burst open and his intestines spilled out.
19
This became known to all the residents of Jerusalem, so that in their own language that field is called
Hakeldama
(that is, Field of Blood).
New Living Translation
Chapter 1
16
Brothers,' he said, 'the Scriptures had to be fulfilled concerning Judas, who guided those who arrested Jesus. This was predicted long ago by the Holy Spirit, speaking through King David.
17
Judas was one of us and shared in the ministry with us.'
18
(Judas had bought a field with the money he received for his treachery. Falling headfirst there, his body split open, spilling out all his intestines.
19
The news of his death spread to all the people of Jerusalem, and they gave the place the Aramaic name
Akeldama,
which means 'Field of Blood.')
English Standard Version
Chapter 1
16
"Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
17
For he was numbered among us and was allotted his share in this ministry."
18
(Now this man acquired a field with the reward of his wickedness, and falling headlong he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out.
19
And it became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the field was called in their own language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
New International Version

16
and said, "Brothers and sisters, the Scripture had to be fulfilled in which the Holy Spirit spoke long ago through David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus.
17
He was one of our number and shared in our ministry."
18
(With the payment he received for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out.
19
Everyone in Jerusalem heard about this, so they called that field in their language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
New King James Version
Chapter 1
16
“Men

18
(Now this man purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out.
