Chapter 9
1For it is superfluous for me to write to you about this ministry to the saints; 2for I know your willingness, of which I boast about you to the Macedonians, namely, that Achaia has been prepared since last year, and your zeal has stirred up most of them. 3But I have sent the brothers, in order that our boasting about you may not prove empty in this case, so that, as I was saying, you will be prepared;King James Version

1For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you: 2For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many. 3Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:Christian Standard Bible

1Now concerning the ministry to the saints, it is unnecessary for me to write to you. 2For I know your eagerness, and I boast about you to the Macedonians: "Achaia has been ready since last year," and your zeal has stirred up most of them. 3But I am sending the brothers so that our boasting about you in this matter would not prove empty, and so that you would be ready just as I said.New Living Translation

1I really don’t need to write to you about this ministry of giving for the believers in Jerusalem. 2For I know how eager you are to help, and I have been boasting to the churches in Macedonia that you in Greece were ready to send an offering a year ago. In fact, it was your enthusiasm that stirred up many of the Macedonian believers to begin giving.English Standard Version
