2 Chronicles 35:11-17
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 35
11
They slaughtered the Passover
animals,
and while the priests sprinkled the blood
received
from their hand, the Levites skinned
the animals.
12
Then they removed the burnt offerings so that
they
might give them to the sections of the fathers’ households of the lay people to present to the
Lord
, as it is written in the Book of Moses.
They did
this with the bulls as well.
13
So they roasted the Passover
animals
on the fire according to the ordinance, and they boiled the holy things in pots, in kettles, and in pans and carried
them
quickly to all the lay people.
14
Afterward they prepared for themselves and for the priests, because the priests, the sons of Aaron,
were
offering the burnt offerings and the fat until night; so the Levites prepared for themselves and for the priests, the sons of Aaron.
15
The singers, the sons of Asaph,
were
also at their positions according to the command of David, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer; and the gatekeepers at each gate did not have to leave their service, because their kinsmen the Levites prepared for them.
16
So all the service of the
Lord
was prepared on that day to celebrate the Passover, and to offer burnt offerings on the altar of the
Lord
according to the command of King Josiah.
17
And the sons of Israel who were present celebrated the Passover at that time, and the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days.
King James Version
Chapter 35
11
And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hands, and the Levites flayed them.
12
And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the
Lord
, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.
13
And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the other holy offerings sod they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided them speedily among all the people.
14
And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.
15
And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.
16
So all the service of the
Lord
was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the
Lord
, according to the commandment of king Josiah.
17
And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 35
11
Then they slaughtered the Passover lambs, and while the Levites were skinning the animals, the priests splattered the blood they had been given.
12
They removed the burnt offerings so that they might be given to the groupings of the ancestral families of the lay people to offer to the
Lord
, according to what is written in the book of Moses; they did the same with the cattle.
13
They roasted the Passover lambs with fire according to regulation. They boiled the holy sacrifices in pots, kettles, and bowls; and they quickly brought them to the lay people.
14
Afterward, they made preparations for themselves and for the priests, since the priests, the descendants of Aaron, were busy offering up burnt offerings and fat until night. So the Levites made preparations for themselves and for the priests, the descendants of Aaron.
15
The singers, the descendants of Asaph, were at their stations according to the command of David, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer. Also, the gatekeepers were at each temple gate. None of them left their tasks because their Levite brothers had made preparations for them.
16
So all the service of the
Lord
was established that day for observing the Passover and for offering burnt offerings on the altar of the
Lord
, according to the command of King Josiah.
17
The Israelites who were present in Judah also observed the Passover at that time and the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days.
New Living Translation
Chapter 35
11
The Levites then slaughtered the Passover lambs and presented the blood to the priests, who sprinkled the blood on the altar while the Levites prepared the animals.
12
They divided the burnt offerings among the people by their family groups, so they could offer them to the
Lord
as prescribed in the Book of Moses. They did the same with the cattle.
13
Then they roasted the Passover lambs as prescribed; and they boiled the holy offerings in pots, kettles, and pans, and brought them out quickly so the people could eat them.
14
Afterward the Levites prepared Passover offerings for themselves and for the priests — the descendants of Aaron — because the priests had been busy from morning till night offering the burnt offerings and the fat portions. The Levites took responsibility for all these preparations.
15
The musicians, descendants of Asaph, were in their assigned places, following the commands that had been given by David, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, the king’s seer. The gatekeepers guarded the gates and did not need to leave their posts of duty, for their Passover offerings were prepared for them by their fellow Levites.
16
The entire ceremony for the
Lord
’s Passover was completed that day. All the burnt offerings were sacrificed on the altar of the
Lord
, as King Josiah had commanded.
17
All the Israelites present in Jerusalem celebrated Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days.
English Standard Version
Chapter 35
11
And they slaughtered the Passover lamb, and the priests threw the blood that they received from them while the Levites flayed the sacrifices.
12
And they set aside the burnt offerings that they might distribute them according to the groupings of the fathers ' houses of the lay people, to offer to the
Lord
, as it is written in the Book of Moses. And so they did with the bulls.
13
And they roasted the Passover lamb with fire according to the rule; and they boiled the holy offerings in pots, in cauldrons, and in pans, and carried them quickly to all the lay people.
14
And afterward they prepared for themselves and for the priests, because the priests, the sons of Aaron, were offering the burnt offerings and the fat parts until night; so the Levites prepared for themselves and for the priests, the sons of Aaron.
15
The singers, the sons of Asaph, were in their place according to the command of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king 's seer; and the gatekeepers were at each gate. They did not need to depart from their service, for their brothers the Levites prepared for them.
16
So all the service of the
Lord
was prepared that day, to keep the Passover and to offer burnt offerings on the altar of the
Lord
, according to the command of King Josiah.
17
And the people of Israel who were present kept the Passover at that time, and the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days.
New International Version
Chapter 35
11
The Passover lambs were slaughtered, and the priests splashed against the altar the blood handed to them, while the Levites skinned the animals.
12
They set aside the burnt offerings to give them to the subdivisions of the families of the people to offer to the
Lord
, as it is written in the Book of Moses. They did the same with the cattle.
13
They roasted the Passover animals over the fire as prescribed, and boiled the holy offerings in pots, caldrons and pans and served them quickly to all the people.
14
After this, they made preparations for themselves and for the priests, because the priests, the descendants of Aaron, were sacrificing the burnt offerings and the fat portions until nightfall. So the Levites made preparations for themselves and for the Aaronic priests.
15
The musicians, the descendants of Asaph, were in the places prescribed by David, Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun the king’s seer. The gatekeepers at each gate did not need to leave their posts, because their fellow Levites made the preparations for them.
16
So at that time the entire service of the
Lord
was carried out for the celebration of the Passover and the offering of burnt offerings on the altar of the
Lord
, as King Josiah had ordered.
17
The Israelites who were present celebrated the Passover at that time and observed the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days.
