Although Ahaz took a portion out of the house of the
Lord
and out of the palace of the king and of the princes, and gave
it
to the king of Assyria, it did not help him.
22
Now during the time of his distress, this same King Ahaz became even more unfaithful to the
Lord
.

For Ahaz took away a portion

of the house of the LORD, and

of the house of the king, and of the princes, and gave
it
unto the king of Assyria: but he helped him not.

And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the LORD: this
is that
king Ahaz.

Although Ahaz plundered the Lord's temple and the palace of the king and of the rulers and gave the plunder to the king of Assyria, it did not help him.

At the time of his distress, King Ahaz himself became more unfaithful to the Lord.
New Living Translation

Ahaz took valuable items from the
Lord
’s Temple, the royal palace, and from the homes of his officials and gave them to the king of Assyria as tribute. But this did not help him.

Even during this time of trouble, King Ahaz continued to reject the
Lord
.

For Ahaz took a portion from the house of the LORD and the house of the king and of the princes, and gave tribute to the king of Assyria, but it did not help him.

In the time of his distress he became yet more faithless to the LORD—this same King Ahaz.

Ahaz took some of the things from the temple of the LORD and from the royal palace and from the officials and presented them to the king of Assyria, but that did not help him.
