Chapter 18

10Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made horns of iron for himself and said, 'This is what the Lord says: ‘With these you will gore the Arameans until they are destroyed!’?' 11All the prophets were prophesying this as well, saying, 'Go up to Ramoth-gilead and be successful, for the Lord will hand it over to the king.'
12Then the messenger who went to summon Micaiah spoke to him saying, 'Behold, the words of the prophets are unanimously favorable to the king. So please let your word be like one of them, and speak favorably.' 13But Micaiah said, 'As the Lord lives, whatever my God says, I will speak it.'
14When he came to the king, the king said to him, 'Micaiah, should we go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or should I refrain?' He said, 'Go up and succeed, for they will be handed over to you!' 15Then the king said to him, 'How many times must I make you swear that you will tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?'
16So he said, 'I saw all Israel Scattered on the mountains, Like sheep that have no shepherd. And the Lord said, ‘These people have no master. Each of them is to return to his house in peace.’?'
17Then the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, 'Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy anything good regarding me, but only bad?'
18And Micaiah said, 'Therefore, hear the word of the Lord. I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the angels of heaven standing on His right and on His left.

10And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed. 11And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king. 12And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good. 13And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak. 14And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand. 15And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD? 16Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace. 17And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil? 18Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.

10Then Zedekiah son of Chenaanah made iron horns and said, "This is what the Lord says: You will gore the Arameans with these until they are finished off." 11And all the prophets were prophesying the same, saying, "March up to Ramoth-gilead and succeed, for the Lord will hand it over to the king."
12The messenger who went to call Micaiah instructed him, "Look, the words of the prophets are unanimously favorable for the king. So let your words be like theirs, and speak favorably."
13But Micaiah said, "As the Lord lives, I will say whatever my God says."
14So he went to the king, and the king asked him, "Micaiah, should we go to Ramoth-gilead for war, or should I refrain? "Micaiah said, "March up and succeed, for they will be handed over to you."
15But the king said to him, "How many times must I make you swear not to tell me anything but the truth in the name of the Lord? "
16So Micaiah said: I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd. And the Lord said, "They have no master; let each return home in peace."
17So the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "Didn't I tell you he never prophesies good about me, but only disaster? "
18Then Micaiah said, "Therefore, hear the word of the Lord. I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, and the whole heavenly army was standing at his right hand and at his left hand.

Chapter 18

10One of them, Zedekiah son of Kenaanah, made some iron horns and proclaimed, 'This is what the Lord says: With these horns you will gore the Arameans to death!'
11All the other prophets agreed. 'Yes,' they said, 'go up to Ramoth-gilead and be victorious, for the Lord will give the king victory!'
12Meanwhile, the messenger who went to get Micaiah said to him, 'Look, all the prophets are promising victory for the king. Be sure that you agree with them and promise success.'
13But Micaiah replied, 'As surely as the Lord lives, I will say only what my God says.'
14When Micaiah arrived before the king, Ahab asked him, 'Micaiah, should we go to war against Ramoth-gilead, or should I hold back?' Micaiah replied sarcastically, 'Yes, go up and be victorious, for you will have victory over them!'
15But the king replied sharply, 'How many times must I demand that you speak only the truth to me when you speak for the Lord?'
16Then Micaiah told him, 'In a vision I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, like sheep without a shepherd. And the Lord said, ‘Their master has been killed. Send them home in peace.’'
17Didn’t I tell you?' the king of Israel exclaimed to Jehoshaphat. 'He never prophesies anything but trouble for me.'
18Then Micaiah continued, 'Listen to what the Lord says! I saw the Lord sitting on his throne with all the armies of heaven around him, on his right and on his left.

12And the messenger who went to summon Micaiah said to him, “Behold, the words of the prophets with one accord are favorable to the king. Let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably.” 13But Micaiah said, “As the LORD lives, what my God says, that I will speak.” 14And when he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I refrain?” And he answered, “Go up and triumph; they will be given into your hand.” 15But the king said to him, “How many times shall I make you swear that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?” 16And he said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And the LORD said, ‘These have no master; let each return to his home in peace.’” 17And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Did I not tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?” 18And Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.

11All the other prophets were prophesying the same thing. 'Attack Ramoth Gilead and be victorious,' they said, 'for the LORD will give it into the king's hand.'
12The messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah said to him, 'Look, the other prophets without exception are predicting success for the king. Let your word agree with theirs, and speak favorably.'
13But Micaiah said, 'As surely as the LORD lives, I can tell him only what my God says.'
14When he arrived, the king asked him, 'Micaiah, shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I not?' 'Attack and be victorious,' he answered, 'for they will be given into your hand.'
15The king said to him, 'How many times must I make you swear to tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the LORD?'
16Then Micaiah answered, 'I saw all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep without a shepherd, and the LORD said, 'These people have no master. Let each one go home in peace.''
17The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, 'Didn't I tell you that he never prophesies anything good about me, but only bad?'
18Micaiah continued, 'Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne with all the multitudes of heaven standing on his right and on his left.
