Chapter 18

18And Micaiah said, 'Therefore, hear the word of the Lord. I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the angels of heaven standing on His right and on His left. 19And the Lord said, ‘Who will entice Ahab king of Israel to go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead?’ And one spirit said this, while another said that. 20Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord and said, ‘I will entice him.’ And the Lord said to him, ‘How?’ 21He said, ‘I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets.’ Then He said, ‘You shall entice him, and you will also prevail. Go out and do so.’ 22Now therefore, behold, the Lord has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of these prophets of yours, for the Lord has declared disaster against you.'
23Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah approached and struck Micaiah on the cheek; and he said, 'How did the Spirit of the Lord pass from me to speak to you?' 24And Micaiah said, 'Behold, you are going to see how on that day when you go from one inner room to another trying to hide yourself.'

18Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the Lord; I saw the Lord sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left. 19And the Lord said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner. 20Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will entice him. And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith? 21And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so. 22Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil against thee. 23Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the Lord from me to speak unto thee? 24And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.

18Then Micaiah said, "Therefore, hear the word of the Lord. I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, and the whole heavenly army was standing at his right hand and at his left hand. 19And the Lord said, ‘Who will entice King Ahab of Israel to march up and fall at Ramoth-gilead?’ So one was saying this and another was saying that.
20"Then a spirit came forward, stood before the Lord, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ "The Lord asked him, ‘How?’
21"So he said, ‘I will go and become a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ "Then he said, ‘You will entice him and also prevail. Go and do that.’
22"Now, you see, the Lord has put a lying spirit into the mouth of these prophets of yours, and the Lord has pronounced disaster against you."
23Then Zedekiah son of Chenaanah came up, hit Micaiah on the cheek, and demanded, "Which way did the spirit from the Lord leave me to speak to you?"
24Micaiah replied, "You will soon see when you go to hide in an inner chamber on that day."

Chapter 18

18Then Micaiah continued, 'Listen to what the Lord says! I saw the Lord sitting on his throne with all the armies of heaven around him, on his right and on his left.
19And the Lord said, ‘Who can entice King Ahab of Israel to go into battle against Ramoth-gilead so he can be killed?’ 'There were many suggestions,
20and finally a spirit approached the Lord and said, ‘I can do it!’ '‘How will you do this?’ the Lord asked.
21And the spirit replied, ‘I will go out and inspire all of Ahab’s prophets to speak lies.’ '‘You will succeed,’ said the Lord. ‘Go ahead and do it.’
22So you see, the Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouths of your prophets. For the Lord has pronounced your doom.'
23Then Zedekiah son of Kenaanah walked up to Micaiah and slapped him across the face. 'Since when did the Spirit of the Lord leave me to speak to you?' he demanded.
24And Micaiah replied, 'You will find out soon enough when you are trying to hide in some secret room!'

18Micaiah continued, "Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne with all the multitudes of heaven standing on his right and on his left.
19And the Lord said, ‘Who will entice Ahab king of Israel into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to his death there?’ "One suggested this, and another that.
20Finally, a spirit came forward, stood before the Lord and said, ‘I will entice him.’ " ‘By what means?’ the Lord asked.
21" ‘I will go and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,’ he said. " ‘You will succeed in enticing him,’ said the Lord. ‘Go and do it.’
22"So now the Lord has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of these prophets of yours. The Lord has decreed disaster for you."
23Then Zedekiah son of Kenaanah went up and slapped Micaiah in the face. "Which way did the spirit from the Lord go when he went from me to speak to you?" he asked.

The Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these prophets of yours, and the Lord has declared disaster against you.”
23Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the spirit from the Lord go from me to speak to you?”
24And Micaiah said, “Indeed you shall see on that day when you go into an inner chamber to hide!”
