When the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and strong, he and all Israel with him abandoned the Law of the
Lord
.

And it came about in King Rehoboam’s fifth year, because they had been unfaithful to the
Lord
, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem
3
with 1,200 chariots and sixty thousand horsemen. And the people who came with him from Egypt were innumerable: the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians.
4
And he captured the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.

And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the
Lord
, and all Israel with him.

And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the
Lord

With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.

And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.

When Rehoboam had established his sovereignty and royal power, he abandoned the law of the
Lord
—he and all Israel with him.

Because they were unfaithful to the
Lord
, in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, King Shishak of Egypt went to war against Jerusalem

with 1,200 chariots, 60,000 cavalrymen, and countless people who came with him from Egypt—Libyans, Sukkiim, and Cushites.

He captured the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.

But when Rehoboam was firmly established and strong, he abandoned the Law of the
Lord
, and all Israel followed him in this sin.

Because they were unfaithful to the
Lord
, King Shishak of Egypt came up and attacked Jerusalem in the fifth year of King Rehoboam’s reign.

He came with 1,200 chariots, 60,000 horses, and a countless army of foot soldiers, including Libyans, Sukkites, and Ethiopians.

Shishak conquered Judah’s fortified towns and then advanced to attack Jerusalem.
