1 Thessalonians 3:7-13
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 3
7for this reason, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and affliction we were comforted about you through your faith; 8for now we really live, if you stand firm in the Lord. 9For what thanks can we give to God for you in return for all the joy with which we rejoice because of you before our God, 10as we keep praying most earnestly night and day that we may see your faces, and may complete what is lacking in your faith?
11Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you;
12and may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you;
13so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.
King James Version
Chapter 3
7Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:
8For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
9For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;
10Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
11Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.
12And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
13To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 3
7Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and affliction, we were encouraged about you through your faith. 8For now we live, if you stand firm in the Lord. 9How can we thank God for you in return for all the joy we experience before our God because of you, 10as we pray very earnestly night and day to see you face to face and to complete what is lacking in your faith?
11Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you.
12And may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow with love for one another and for everyone, just as we do for you.
13May he make your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints. Amen.
New Living Translation
Chapter 3
7So we have been greatly encouraged in the midst of our troubles and suffering, dear brothers and sisters, because you have remained strong in your faith. 8It gives us new life to know that you are standing firm in the Lord.
9How we thank God for you! Because of you we have great joy as we enter God’s presence.
10Night and day we pray earnestly for you, asking God to let us see you again to fill the gaps in your faith.
11May God our Father and our Lord Jesus bring us to you very soon.
12And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.
13May he, as a result, make your hearts strong, blameless, and holy as you stand before God our Father when our Lord Jesus comes again with all his holy people. Amen.
English Standard Version
Chapter 3
7for this reason, brothers, in all our distress and affliction we have been comforted about you through your faith. 8For now we live, if you are standing fast in the Lord. 9For what thanksgiving can we return to God for you, for all the joy that we feel for your sake before our God, 10as we pray most earnestly night and day that we may see you face to face and supply what is lacking in your faith?
11Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you,
12and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you,
13so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
New International Version
Chapter 3
7Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. 8For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord. 9How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you? 10Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith.
11Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you.
12May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.
13May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.
