1 Samuel 28:14-15
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 28
14
He said to her, 'How does he appear?' And she said, 'An old man is coming up, and he is wrapped in a robe.' Then Saul knew that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground and paid homage.
15
And Samuel said to Saul, 'Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?' Saul replied, 'I am very distressed, for the Philistines are waging war against me, and God has abandoned me and no longer answers me, either through prophets or in dreams; therefore I have called you, so that you may let me know what I should do.'
King James Version
Chapter 28
14
And he said unto her, What form
is
he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he
is
covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it
was
Samuel, and he stooped with
his
face to the ground, and bowed himself.
15
And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 28
14
Then Saul asked her, "What does he look like? ""An old man is coming up," she replied. "He's wearing a robe." Then Saul knew that it was Samuel, and he knelt low with his face to the ground and paid homage.
15
"Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up? " Samuel asked Saul."I'm in serious trouble," replied Saul. "The Philistines are fighting against me and God has turned away from me. He doesn't answer me anymore, either through the prophets or in dreams. So I've called on you to tell me what I should do."
New Living Translation
