1 Samuel 19:22-24
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 19
22
Then he went to Ramah himself and came as far as the large well that is in Secu; and he asked, 'Where are Samuel and David?' And
someone
said, 'Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah.'
23
So he proceeded there to Naioth in Ramah; but the Spirit of God came upon him also, so that he went along prophesying continually until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
24
He also stripped off his clothes, and he too prophesied before Samuel and lay down naked all that day and all night. Therefore they say, 'Is Saul also among the prophets?'
King James Version
Chapter 19
22
Then went he also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah.
23
And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
24
And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 19
22
Then Saul himself went to Ramah. He came to the large cistern at Secu and asked, "Where are Samuel and David?" "At Naioth in Ramah," someone said.
23
So he went to Naioth in Ramah. The Spirit of God also came on him, and as he walked along, he prophesied until he entered Naioth in Ramah.
24
Saul then removed his clothes and also prophesied before Samuel; he collapsed and lay naked all that day and all that night. That is why they say, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"
New Living Translation
Chapter 19
22
Finally, Saul himself went to Ramah and arrived at the great well in Secu. 'Where are Samuel and David?' he demanded. 'They are at Naioth in Ramah,' someone told him.
23
But on the way to Naioth in Ramah the Spirit of God came even upon Saul, and he, too, began to prophesy all the way to Naioth!
24
He tore off his clothes and lay naked on the ground all day and all night, prophesying in the presence of Samuel. The people who were watching exclaimed, 'What? Is even Saul a prophet?'
English Standard Version
Chapter 19
22
Then he himself went to Ramah and came to the great well that is in Secu. And he asked, "Where are Samuel and David?" And one said, "Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah."
23
And he went there to Naioth in Ramah. And the Spirit of God came upon him also, and as he went he prophesied until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
24
And he too stripped off his clothes, and he too prophesied before Samuel and lay naked all that day and all that night. Thus it is said, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"
New International Version
Chapter 19
22
Finally, he himself left for Ramah and went to the great cistern at Seku. And he asked, "Where are Samuel and David?" "Over in Naioth at Ramah," they said.
23
So Saul went to Naioth at Ramah. But the Spirit of God came even on him, and he walked along prophesying until he came to Naioth.
24
He stripped off his garments, and he too prophesied in Samuel’s presence. He lay naked all that day and all that night. This is why people say, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"
New King James Version
Chapter 19
22
Then he also went to Ramah, and came to the great well that
is
at Sechu. So he asked, and said, “Where
are
Samuel and David?” And
someone
said, “Indeed
they are
at Naioth in Ramah.”
23
So he went there to Naioth in Ramah. Then the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on and prophesied until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
24
And he also stripped off his clothes and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, “
Is
Saul also among the prophets?”
