Chapter 18
20Now Michal, Saul’s daughter, loved David. When they informed Saul, the thing was pleasing to him. 21For Saul thought, 'I will give her to him so that she may become a trap for him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him.' Therefore Saul said to David, 'For a second time you may become my son-in-law, today.' 22Then Saul commanded his servants, 'Speak to David in secret, saying, ‘Behold, the king delights in you, and all his servants love you; now then, become the king’s son-in-law.’?' 23So Saul’s servants spoke these words to David. But David said, 'Is it trivial in your sight to become the king’s son-in-law, since I am only a poor man and insignificant?' 24Then Saul’s servants reported to him, saying, 'These are the words David spoke.' 25Saul then said, 'This is what you shall say to David: ‘The king does not desire any dowry except a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to take vengeance on the king’s enemies.’?' But Saul plotted to have David fall by the hand of the Philistines. 26When his servants told David these words, it pleased David to become the king’s son-in-law. So before the time had expired, 27David set out and went, he and his men, and fatally struck two hundred men among the Philistines. Then David brought their foreskins, and they presented all two hundred of them to the king, so that he might become the king’s son-in-law. And Saul gave him his daughter Michal as a wife. 28When Saul saw and realized that the Lord was with David, and that Michal, Saul’s daughter, loved him, 29then Saul was even more afraid of David. So Saul was David’s enemy continually.King James Version

20And Michal Saul's daughter loved David: and they told Saul, and the thing pleased him. 21And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son in law in the one of the twain. 22And Saul commanded his servants, saying, Commune with David secretly, and say, Behold, the king hath delight in thee, and all his servants love thee: now therefore be the king's son in law. 23And Saul's servants spake those words in the ears of David. And David said, Seemeth it to you a light thing to be a king's son in law, seeing that I am a poor man, and lightly esteemed? 24And the servants of Saul told him, saying, On this manner spake David. 25And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines. 26And when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the king's son in law: and the days were not expired. 27Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife. 28And Saul saw and knew that the LORD was with David, and that Michal Saul's daughter loved him. 29And Saul was yet the more afraid of David; and Saul became David's enemy continually. 30Then the princes of the Philistines went forth: and it came to pass, after they went forth, that David behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul; so that his name was much set by.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 18
20Now Saul's daughter Michal loved David, and when it was reported to Saul, it pleased him. 21"I'll give her to him," Saul thought. "She'll be a trap for him, and the hand of the Philistines will be against him." So Saul said to David a second time, "You can now be my son-in-law."
26When the servants reported these terms to David, he was pleased to become the king's son-in-law. Before the wedding day arrived,
27David and his men went out and killed two hundred Philistines. He brought their foreskins and presented them as full payment to the king to become his son-in-law. Then Saul gave his daughter Michal to David as his wife.
28Saul realized that the Lord was with David and that his daughter Michal loved him,
29and he became even more afraid of David. As a result, Saul was David's enemy from then on.

Chapter 18
20In the meantime, Saul’s daughter Michal had fallen in love with David, and Saul was delighted when he heard about it. 21Here’s another chance to see him killed by the Philistines!' Saul said to himself. But to David he said, 'Today you have a second chance to become my son-in-law!'
24When Saul’s men reported this back to the king,
25he told them, 'Tell David that all I want for the bride price is 100 Philistine foreskins! Vengeance on my enemies is all I really want.' But what Saul had in mind was that David would be killed in the fight.
26David was delighted to accept the offer. Before the time limit expired,
27he and his men went out and killed 200 Philistines. Then David fulfilled the king’s requirement by presenting all their foreskins to him. So Saul gave his daughter Michal to David to be his wife.

24When Saul's servants told him what David had said,
25Saul replied, 'Say to David, 'The king wants no other price for the bride than a hundred Philistine foreskins, to take revenge on his enemies.'' Saul's plan was to have David fall by the hands of the Philistines.
26When the attendants told David these things, he was pleased to become the king's son-in-law. So before the allotted time elapsed,
27David took his men with him and went out and killed two hundred Philistines and brought back their foreskins. They counted out the full number to the king so that David might become the king's son-in-law. Then Saul gave him his daughter Michal in marriage.

28Thus Saul saw and knew that the Lord was with David, and that Michal, Saul’s daughter, loved him;
29and Saul was still more afraid of David. So Saul became David’s enemy continually.
30Then the princes of the Philistines went out to war. And so it was, whenever they went out, that David behaved more wisely than all the servants of Saul, so that his name became highly esteemed.
