1 Samuel 14:1-5
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 14
1
Now the day came that Jonathan, the son of Saul, said to the young man who was carrying his armor, 'Come, and let’s cross over to the Philistines’ garrison that is on the other side.' But he did not tell his father.
2
Saul was staying on the outskirts of Gibeah under the pomegranate tree that is in Migron. And the people who
were
with him
numbered
about six hundred men;
3
and Ahijah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabod’s brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the priest of the
Lord
at Shiloh, was wearing an ephod. And the people did not know that Jonathan had gone.
4
Now between the gorges by which Jonathan sought to cross over to the Philistines’ garrison there was a rocky crag on the one side, and a rocky crag on the other side; and the name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other, Seneh.
5
The one crag
rose
on the north opposite Michmash, and the other on the south opposite Geba.
King James Version
Chapter 14
1
Now it came to pass upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over to the Philistines' garrison, that is on the other side. But he told not his father.
2
And Saul tarried in the uttermost part of Gibeah under a pomegranate tree which is in Migron: and the people that were with him were about six hundred men;
3
And Ahiah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabod's brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the
Lord
'S priest in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people knew not that Jonathan was gone.
4
And between the passages, by which Jonathan sought to go over unto the Philistines' garrison, there was a sharp rock on the one side, and a sharp rock on the other side: and the name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.
5
The forefront of the one was situate northward over against Michmash, and the other southward over against Gibeah.

2
Saul was staying under the pomegranate tree in Migron on the outskirts of Gibeah. The troops with him numbered about six hundred.
3
Ahijah, who was wearing an ephod, was also there. He was the son of Ahitub, the brother of Ichabod son of Phinehas, son of Eli the
Lord
’s priest at Shiloh. But the troops did not know that Jonathan had left.
4
There were sharp columns of rock on both sides of the pass that Jonathan intended to cross to reach the Philistine garrison. One was named Bozez and the other Seneh;
5
one stood to the north in front of Michmash and the other to the south in front of Geba.
New Living Translation
Chapter 14
1
One day Jonathan said to his armor bearer, 'Come on, let’s go over to where the Philistines have their outpost.' But Jonathan did not tell his father what he was doing.
2
Meanwhile, Saul and his 600 men were camped on the outskirts of Gibeah, around the pomegranate tree at Migron.
3
Among Saul’s men was Ahijah the priest, who was wearing the ephod, the priestly vest. Ahijah was the son of Ichabod’s brother Ahitub, son of Phinehas, son of Eli, the priest of the
Lord
who had served at Shiloh. No one realized that Jonathan had left the Israelite camp.
4
To reach the Philistine outpost, Jonathan had to go down between two rocky cliffs that were called Bozez and Seneh.
5
The cliff on the north was in front of Micmash, and the one on the south was in front of Geba.
