1 Peter 4:13-16
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 4
13but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that at the revelation of His glory you may also rejoice and be overjoyed. 14If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory, and of God, rests upon you. 15Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler; 16but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name.King James Version
Chapter 4
13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 16Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 4
13Instead, rejoice as you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may also rejoice with great joy when his glory is revealed. 14If you are ridiculed for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 15Let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or a meddler. 16But if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed but let him glorify God in having that name.New Living Translation
14If you are insulted because you bear the name of Christ, you will be blessed, for the glorious Spirit of God rests upon you.
15If you suffer, however, it must not be for murder, stealing, making trouble, or prying into other people’s affairs.
16But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!
