Chapter 9

31Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the responsibility for the baking of cakes in pans. 32Some of their relatives of the sons of the Kohathites were in charge of the showbread to prepare it every Sabbath.
33Now these are the singers, heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, who lived in the chambers of the temple free of other duties; for they were engaged in their work day and night. 34These were heads of fathers’ households of the Levites according to their generations, chief men who lived in Jerusalem.
35Jeiel the father of Gibeon lived in Gibeon, and his wife’s name was Maacah,

31And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the set office over the things that were made in the pans. 32And other of their brethren, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the shewbread, to prepare it every sabbath. 33And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night. 34These chief fathers of the Levites were chief throughout their generations; these dwelt at Jerusalem.
35And in Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jehiel, whose wife's name was Maachah:

31A Levite called Mattithiah, the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with baking the bread. 32Some of the Kohathites' relatives were responsible for preparing the rows of the Bread of the Presence every Sabbath.
33The singers, the heads of the Levite families, stayed in the temple chambers and were exempt from other tasks because they were on duty day and night. 34These were the heads of the Levite families, chiefs according to their family records; they lived in Jerusalem.
35Jeiel fathered Gibeon and lived in Gibeon. His wife's name was Maacah.

31Mattithiah, a Levite and the oldest son of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with baking the bread used in the offerings. 32And some members of the clan of Kohath were in charge of preparing the bread to be set on the table each Sabbath day.
33The musicians, all prominent Levites, lived at the Temple. They were exempt from other responsibilities since they were on duty at all hours. 34All these men lived in Jerusalem. They were the heads of Levite families and were listed as prominent leaders in their genealogical records.
35Jeiel (the father of Gibeon) lived in the town of Gibeon. His wife’s name was Maacah,

33Now these, the singers, the heads of fathers’ houses of the Levites, were in the chambers of the temple free from other service, for they were on duty day and night. 34These were heads of fathers’ houses of the Levites, according to their generations, leaders. These lived in Jerusalem.

Chapter 9

31A Levite named Mattithiah, the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with the responsibility for baking the offering bread. 32Some of the Kohathites, their fellow Levites, were in charge of preparing for every Sabbath the bread set out on the table.
33Those who were musicians, heads of Levite families, stayed in the rooms of the temple and were exempt from other duties because they were responsible for the work day and night.
34All these were heads of Levite families, chiefs as listed in their genealogy, and they lived in Jerusalem.
35Jeiel the father of Gibeon lived in Gibeon. His wife's name was Maakah,
