1 Chronicles 9:14-24
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 9
14Of the Levites, there were Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari; 15and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal; and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph, 16and Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the settlements of the Netophathites.
17Now the gatekeepers were Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their relatives (Shallum the chief
18being stationed until now at the king’s gate to the east). These were the gatekeepers for the camp of the sons of Levi.
19Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his relatives of his father’s house, the Korahites, were in charge of the work of the service, doorkeepers of the tent; and their fathers had been in charge of the camp of the Lord, keepers of the entrance.
20Phinehas the son of Eleazar was supervisor over them previously, and the Lord was with him.
21Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was gatekeeper of the entrance of the tent of meeting.
22Those who were chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds were 212 in all. They were registered by genealogy in their settlements, those whom David and Samuel the seer appointed in their official capacity.
23So they and their sons were in charge of the gates of the house of the Lord, the house of the tent, in their divisions of service.
24The gatekeepers were on the four sides, to the east, west, north, and south.

Chapter 9
14And of the Levites; Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari; 15And Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Micah, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph; 16And Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites. 17And the porters were, Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum was the chief; 18Who hitherto waited in the king's gate eastward: they were porters in the companies of the children of Levi. 19And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their fathers, being over the host of the LORD, were keepers of the entry. 20And Phinehas the son of Eleazar was the ruler over them in time past, and the LORD was with him. 21And Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 22All these which were chosen to be porters in the gates were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their set office. 23So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of the LORD, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards. 24In four quarters were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 9
14The Levites: Shemaiah son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah of the Merarites;
18he was previously stationed at the King's Gate on the east side. These were the gatekeepers from the camp of the Levites.
19Shallum son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah and his relatives from his ancestral family, the Korahites, were assigned to guard the thresholds of the tent. Their ancestors had been assigned to the Lord's camp as guardians of the entrance.
20In earlier times Phinehas son of Eleazar had been their leader, and the Lord was with him.
21Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was the gatekeeper at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
22The total number of those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds was 212. They were registered by genealogy in their settlements. David and the seer Samuel had appointed them to their trusted positions.
23So they and their sons were assigned as guards to the gates of the Lord's temple, which had been the tent-temple.
24The gatekeepers were on the four sides: east, west, north, and south.

Chapter 9
14The Levites who returned were Shemaiah son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, a descendant of Merari; 15Bakbakkar; Heresh; Galal; Mattaniah son of Mica, son of Zicri, son of Asaph; 16Obadiah son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun; and Berekiah son of Asa, son of Elkanah, who lived in the area of Netophah.
17The gatekeepers who returned were Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their relatives. Shallum was the chief gatekeeper.
18Prior to this time, they were responsible for the King’s Gate on the east side. These men served as gatekeepers for the camps of the Levites.
19Shallum was the son of Kore, a descendant of Abiasaph, from the clan of Korah. He and his relatives, the Korahites, were responsible for guarding the entrance to the sanctuary, just as their ancestors had guarded the Tabernacle in the camp of the Lord.
20Phinehas son of Eleazar had been in charge of the gatekeepers in earlier times, and the Lord had been with him.
21And later Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was responsible for guarding the entrance to the Tabernacle.
22In all, there were 212 gatekeepers in those days, and they were listed according to the genealogies in their villages. David and Samuel the seer had appointed their ancestors because they were reliable men.
23These gatekeepers and their descendants, by their divisions, were responsible for guarding the entrance to the house of the Lord when that house was a tent.
24The gatekeepers were stationed on all four sides — east, west, north, and south.

17The gatekeepers were Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their kinsmen (Shallum was the chief);
18until then they were in the king’s gate on the east side as the gatekeepers of the camps of the Levites.
19Shallum the son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, and his kinsmen of his fathers’ house, the Korahites, were in charge of the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent, as their fathers had been in charge of the camp of the LORD, keepers of the entrance.

21Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was gatekeeper at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
22All these, who were chosen as gatekeepers at the thresholds, were 212. They were enrolled by genealogies in their villages. David and Samuel the seer established them in their office of trust.
23So they and their sons were in charge of the gates of the house of the LORD, that is, the house of the tent, as guards.
24The gatekeepers were on the four sides, east, west, north, and south.
